Scope
Guildford Station redevelopment of Block E consisting of 50 No. balconies.
The Project
Block E is single residential block that forms part of the greater Guildford Station Redevelopment scheme, comprising of an 8-storey residential building (ground plus 6 upper floors accommodation) with roof top plant.
Block E consists of a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bed apartments.
The Challenge
One of the key challenges in the delivery of this project was installing the balconies next to live rail line operated by Network Rail.
The Response
Brooksby ensured this challenge was overcome by installation taking place throughout the night during track closure.
The Brooksby patented slide on technology allows for seamless installation of balconies removing the need to work under a live load.
The Brooksby aluminium vertical bar balustrade with the internal fascia achieved the architects minimalistic design intent as well as being extremely cost effective.
